full-time Estimator - Commercial Concrete | Austin / Central Texas Our client, a leading commercial concrete contractor, is seeking an experienced Estimator to support continued growth across the Central Texas market. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected industry leader delivering complex self-perform concrete projects for data centers, distribution facilities, manufacturing plants, warehouses, commercial developments, and other large-scale structures. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new work by leading the estimating process from initial bid review through proposal submission while partnering closely with operations, project management, preconstruction teams, subcontractors, and clients. Responsibilities Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial concrete construction projects Analyze drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to develop accurate pricing Estimate structural concrete, foundations, elevated slabs, tilt-wall systems, site concrete, and reinforced concrete scopes Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing Develop labor, material, equipment, and production rate calculations Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities Participate in preconstruction meetings and bid strategy discussions Prepare bid proposals, budget pricing, conceptual estimates, and GMP packages Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and productivity benchmarks Collaborate with project management and operations teams during project handoff Assist with change order pricing, cost analyses, and post-bid reviews Support business development efforts by building relationships with owners, developers, architects, and general contractors Qualifications 5+ years of estimating experience within commercial concrete construction Experience estimating self-perform concrete scopes on projects valued from $10M to $100M+ Strong understanding of concrete means and methods, labor productivity, material pricing, and construction sequencing Experience estimating foundations, slabs-on-grade, elevated decks, structural concrete, tilt-wall, and reinforced concrete systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules Proficiency with Bluebeam, OST, AGTEK, ProEst, B2W, HCSS HeavyBid, or similar estimating software Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Proven success preparing competitive bids and securing profitable projects Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Performance-based bonus program Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays Career advancement opportunities with an industry-leading contractor Ideal Background The ideal candidate will have experience estimating large-scale commercial and industrial concrete projects, including: Data Centers Manufacturing Facilities Distribution & Warehouse Projects Industrial Facilities Commercial Buildings Healthcare Facilities Higher Education Projects Mixed-Use Developments Candidates with a strong self-perform concrete estimating background and experience pricing complex concrete packages, structural concrete scopes, and high-volume projects are highly encouraged to apply.
