Job Description

Century Concrete seeks Finishers for projects throughout the region. Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. and pass background check for federal facilities. Work involves exposure to outside weather conditions. Must be able to exert heavy physical effort and handle average weight objects up to 50 pounds.
Some duties include:
Operate walk behind trowel machines with pans, riding trowel machines, magic screed, air screed, laser screed, and uses hand finishing tools in support of concrete placement (e.g., Kum-a-long, edging tools, straight edge, jointer, float, trowel, broom, rake, shovel) Employs all finishing methods to achieve concrete placement specification (e.g., sets elevation for concrete strike off, performs bump cutting for flatness) Directs and maneuvers concrete chute to deposit concrete, tailgates concrete Assembles and disassembles concrete pumping system (i.e., maintains hoses, changes blades on walk-behinds, fuels equipment) Produces rough concrete surface using broom Prepares concrete substrate for rubbing and patching to specifications Rubs and patches to specifications Maintains a safe work environment, employs safe working practices, participates in safety and job-related training and certification, and continuously improves knowledge of operational safety Other duties as assigned Qualifications Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. Must be able to pass background check to get on Federal property Must be willing to work a variable work schedule including early morning/late night pours Must be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, walk, stand, climb, crawl, work at heights, exert heavy physical effort and handle average weight objects up to 50 pounds Ability to operate equipment and use all finishing tools Ability to perform hand striking with straight edge tool Ability to rub and patch concrete to specification Must be willing and able to travel for work throughout the region Century Concrete has been a top-performing concrete contractor for more than 50 years, employing a disciplined approach to project planning and execution through experienced professionals who understand the challenges of today's construction industry.
