Job Summary:
Manages and develops the a Self-Perform Work (SPW) scope function to drive cross-functional performance and achieve strategic objectives. Anticipates and resolves complex constructability and resource challenges by collaborating with project teams, trade partners, and clients to align SPW execution with evolving project demands. Leads the development and enforcement of enterprise-wide safety strategies and regulatory compliance initiatives specific to SPW, ensuring that all self-performed scopes are executed safely and efficiently while maintaining inclusive, high-performing jobsites across the organization's portfolio of projects. Refines and adjusts on-site SPW strategies to reinforce the organization's reputation for excellence in SPW construction. Provides leadership and oversight of all SPW construction operations across multiple projects or regions, ensuring that self-performed scopes are executed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees the SPW operation and individuals to drive excellence in performance and talent development across functions with significant influence. Orchestrates, develops, and empowers multiple SPW field crews and leaders, ensuring their work is seamlessly integrated with the overall project strategy and consistently aligned with client objectives. Oversees and optimizes cross-functional collaboration among self-perform project managers, internal teams, and supporting trades, proactively resolving complex craft and logistical challenges in the field while strategically deploying SPW labor, equipment, and materials across multiple projects to maximize efficiency and project outcomes. Implements and audits advanced safety, quality, and compliance programs specific to SPW operations, driving continuous improvement and accountability throughout all SPW field activities. Leads the evaluation and integration of SPW documentation, productivity metrics, cost reports, and incident trends, delivering actionable insights and strategic recommendations to inform executive leadership and shape the direction of self-perform operations. Represents SPW field teams in project or portfolio-wide status updates, risk assessments, and strategic opportunities with executive leadership and key stakeholders, driving proactive solutions and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Champions the adoption of innovative construction technologies and process enhancements within SPW operations, positioning SPW field teams at the forefront of leading practices.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience required. Master's degree in construction management, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
Work Experience:
7 years of experience in SPW field engineering, construction management, or a related field required. 2 - 4 years of experience in a managerial capacity preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
OSHA 30‑Hour Construction preferred. OSHA 30-Hour Program Completion within 6 months of hire is required. ASHE, CHC, or relevant market certification preferred. OSHA 510/500 or equivalent training preferred.
