We are seeking an experienced, dependable Residential Construction Foreman who can independently run residential jobsites with little to no day-to-day supervision. This position requires someone who is not only a skilled carpenter, but also capable of leading a crew, communicating professionally with homeowners, solving problems in the field, and representing the company well when the owner is not present. Responsibilities
- Run residential construction and remodeling projects independently.
- Lead and supervise carpenters, laborers, and helpers.
- Assign daily tasks and keep crew members productive.
- Read plans, measurements, scopes of work, and project instructions.
- Perform and oversee quality carpentry and construction work.
- Handle framing, decks, siding, exterior/interior trim, doors, windows, demolition, repairs, and general remodeling.
- Verify measurements, layout, level, square, and overall workmanship.
- Identify problems before they become expensive mistakes.
- Keep projects moving efficiently and communicate material or scheduling needs ahead of time.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe jobsite.
- Keep tools and company property organized and properly cared for.
- Provide progress updates, photos, material needs, and jobsite concerns to the owner.
- Make appropriate day-to-day jobsite decisions without needing constant direction.
- Ensure work meets company standards before considering a task complete.
Homeowner & Customer Communication This position will regularly interact directly with homeowners. Professional appearance and communication are required.
The foreman must:
- Be clean, presentable, respectful, and professional around homeowners.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with customers.
- Be comfortable answering basic questions about the work being performed.
- Treat the customer's home and property with respect.
- Handle homeowner concerns calmly and professionally.
- Never argue with a homeowner or make unauthorized promises regarding price, additional work, schedule changes, or contract terms.
- Immediately communicate significant homeowner requests, changes, or concerns to the company owner.
- Understand that when working unsupervised, they are representing the company and its reputation. Required Qualifications
- Strong residential construction and carpentry experience.
- Previous foreman, lead carpenter, or crew-lead experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a small crew.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, materials, and jobsite safety.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Professional communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Comfortable communicating through phone calls, texts, photos, and job updates.
- Ability to perform physically demanding construction work.
Pay:
$33.00
