Field Operations Manager or Superintendent Position Summary:
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for coordinating the work and staff for assigned projects to ensure work is completed safely, in a timely manner, and following established quality standards. The Foreman organizes, plans and schedules the work of the jobsite crew. The Foreman may be required to complete construction tasks and work alongside the crew in a collaborative manner.Key Responsibilities:
The following general functions apply to all levels of Foremen and are in additional to the requirements for Electrician 1-3 and Leadman. The specific competency requirements are listed below. Performs rigid and EMT conduit bending and installation. Installs/repairs commercial wiring. Installs/repairs panels. Validates electrical systems installations. Troubleshoots & diagnoses problems, and recommends solutions. Installs and/or repairs lighting. Tests basic and high voltage systems. Performs insulation resistance testing. Reads, understands, utilizes and follows blueprints, schematics and drawings. May install or repair electrical power equipment, if necessary. Follows all safety requirements. Ensures all certifications, licenses, etc, if any, are up to date. Provides effective and meaningful coaching and counseling to assigned staff.Competency Requirements:
In addition to the specific competencies required for Electricians 1 -3 and Leadman, the Foreman 1 must demonstrate these competencies: Able to install and wire transformers over 500 kva. Able to determine materials, tools and equipment necessary for up to 10 others. Able to plan, schedule and layout work for up to 10 others using a "Three Day Work Plan" and "Three Week Look Ahead Schedule." Able to perform safety inspections, conduct safety meetings, and complete necessary safety, and other, paperwork. Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, general contractors, owners, etc. Ability to use the "Scoring" website/database to accurately submit time and percentage completed. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Work and Excel.Qualifications:
4+ years as Journeymen, Leadman or Foreman working or managing commercial electrical work. Graduated from an approved Apprenticeship Program preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain reliable transportation. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to pass a drivers record check & be added to the company's insurance. Must have basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel). Must have basic email skills. Able to coordinate with other trades and general contractors. Able to distinguish colors.Pay:
