Summary Description:
Pyro-Comm Systems is seeking an experienced Foreman to lead commercial Fire Alarm and Low Voltage installation projects throughout Southern California. This position is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and has a strong background in Fire/Life Safety systems, project coordination, team development, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. The Foreman is responsible for managing field personnel, coordinating with General Contractors and other trades, maintaining schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects that meet customer expectations and applicable codes.
Position Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Experience and Qualifications 5+ years' experience in commercial fire alarm and low voltage installation Minimum 2 years' experience as a Foreman or Lead Technician Experience with jobsite document control and reporting Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience on at least two large-scale commercial projects exceeding $1 million in contract value State Licensed Installer for Fire Life Safety (Blue Card) or NICET Level II Fire Alarm certification preferred Proficient in material management and forecasting jobsite needs Strong schedule awareness and task planning abilities Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals Technical Knowledge Installation of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems Panel programming and troubleshooting Reading plans, risers, and device layouts Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable local codes Understanding testing, inspection, and acceptance procedures Knowledge of device types, circuits, power requirements, and supervision requirements Maintain as-built drawings and project documentation Safety Responsibilities Enforce OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings Ensure proper PPE and safe work practices are followed Identify hazards and implement corrective actions before work begins Project Coordination Coordinate work with electrical, HVAC, elevator, low voltage, and General Contractor teams Resolve conflicts involving rough-in, ceiling space, access issues, and scheduling Attend project coordination meetings Communicate with inspectors, AHJs, customers, and project teams Leadership Responsibilities Lead installers and apprentices in the field Delegate work based on skill level and project priorities Train and mentor technicians Hold team members accountable while maintaining positive morale Motivate crews and maintain production schedules Promote professionalism, teamwork, and quality workmanship Physical and Environmental Demands Sitting
