The project includes small diameter watermain replacement, copper water service replacements, curb stops, meter boxes, valves, appurtenances, building service connections, excavation, backfill, testing support, chlorination support, and restoration coordination. The Utility Foreman will be responsible for leading field crews, coordinating daily production, maintaining safety, communicating with the superintendent and inspectors, and ensuring work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and schedule requirements. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily watermain and water service replacement activities.
- Lead pipe layers, laborers, operators, truck drivers, and service crews.
- Coordinate work with the superintendent, inspectors, residents, and other field personnel.
- Review daily work plans, crew assignments, equipment needs, and material needs.
- Maintain production goals and assist with daily reporting.
- Ensure proper trench safety, utility protection, traffic control, and housekeeping.
- Support watermain installation, copper service installation, curb stops, meter boxes, valves, tie-ins, pressure testing, chlorination, flushing, and restoration.
- Identify field conflicts and communicate issues quickly.
- Enforce company safety policies and project-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain access for residents, businesses, pedestrians, and traffic. Qualifications
- Previous foreman experience in underground utility, watermain, sewer, or heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of trench excavation, pipe installation, backfill, compaction, and utility conflicts.
- Ability to read plans, details, and specifications.
- Experience working with inspectors and public utility owners preferred.
- OSHA 30 preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to lead crews effectively. Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, shovel, climb, bend, and work around trenches, traffic, pedestrians, and construction equipment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and wear required PPE at all times. Schedule
- Monday through Friday.
- Day shift.
- Overtime may be available based on project needs.
- Weekend or off-hour work may be required only when approved or required by project conditions. Compensation This is a prevailing wage / Davis-Bacon project. Pay will be based on the applicable classification, experience, and actual work performed. How to Apply
