This position is ideal for someone with strong field experience who enjoys working directly alongside crews and subcontractors, solving problems in real time, and helping keep projects moving safely and efficiently. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow into an Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent role with our company. This initial project is expected to last approximately 6 to 7 months, with long-term opportunities available afterward throughout South and Central Florida. About PJ Callaghan Construction PJ Callaghan Construction is a fourth-generation Florida builder with over 78 years of experience specializing in commercial and industrial construction throughout the state. We are known for accountability, strong relationships, quality workmanship, and practical field leadership. Position Responsibilities Assist with daily onsite construction operations Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, deliveries, and site logistics Help maintain project schedules and workflow Ensure jobsite safety standards are followed Read and interpret plans and construction drawings Identify and help resolve field issues quickly Maintain accountability among trades and crews Work closely with project managers and superintendents Participate in coordination meetings and daily planning activities Support quality control and project completion efforts Qualifications Minimum 3 years of commercial or industrial construction field experience Experience leading crews or acting in a foreman, lead carpenter, or assistant superintendent role preferred Bilingual English/Spanish required Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field coordination Ability to read construction plans and specifications Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Strong communication and leadership skills Comfortable working in active construction environments What We're Looking For We are looking for a working field leader who understands how construction actually gets built onsite. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, organized, and willing to lead from the field alongside crews and subcontractors, not strictly from an office or trailer environment.
