Job Description
Framing Team Lead/Foreman 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Ocala, FL 34470 Full-time Leola Construction 45 reviews Full-time Framing Team Lead / Foreman Residential Shell Construction Position Summary The Framing Team Lead / Foreman runs the day-to-day framing operation on Leola Construction's residential shell jobsites. You are the person on the ground who sets the pace, holds the quality standard, keeps the crew safe, and hits the schedule. You will lead a small crew of framers and helpers, building single-family homes and townhomes in the Tampa Bay and surrounding area. This is a hands-on leadership role. Expect to swing a hammer alongside the crew when needed, but your primary work product is getting each house framed right, on time, and safely. What You Will Do Lead a framing crew working directly with Leola through wall layout, floor systems, wall panels, trusses, sheathing, stairs, and roof framing on single-family homes and townhomes. Read and interpret architectural and structural plans; set layout daily and verify dimensions before the crew starts cutting. Install and inspect hurricane strapping and Simpson Strong-Tie hardware (H2.5A, H10, MSTC, HTT, holdowns) to code and plan detail. Set the daily production plan, assign crew members to tasks, and keep the job moving at production shell pace.
Enforce Leola quality standards:
plumb walls, square corners, proper nailing patterns, correct strap placement, clean sheathing lines. Own jobsite safety. Conduct toolbox talks, enforce fall protection and ladder use, and stop work when conditions are unsafe. Coordinate with the Project Manager on material deliveries, schedule changes, inspections, and punch items. Communicate daily with the Project Manager — production counts, blockers, crew issues, and material needs. Coach and develop the Framers and Helpers on the crew. You are building the bench of people Leola will contract for larger work down the road. Walk the house with inspectors and superintendents; resolve punch items quickly. What We Are Looking For Required 5+ years of residential wood framing experience on single-family homes or townhomes. 2+ years in a lead, foreman, or crew-leader role on production residential framing. Strong command of hurricane strapping and Simpson Strong-Tie hardware requirements. Ability to read and lay out from architectural and structural plans without supervision. Demonstrated ability to hit production schedules on a volume residential pace. Working knowledge of safe jobsite practices, including fall protection. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Experience running conventional stick-framed roofs as well as engineered trusses. Experience with multi-story single-family and townhome stair framing to code. Physical Requirements Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the workday. Able to work outdoors in hot, humid weather (heat, humidity, sun, occasional rain). Able to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work at heights on residential shell structures. Able to safely operate nail guns, saws, and other standard framing tools. Reliable transportation to job sites within the metro area. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience. Consistent volume of work as Leola scales its direct residential shell operation. Expanded scope as we grow:
as Leola takes on more direct shell work, proven Team Leads will be engaged for larger and more complex projects.
