Full Job Description Description:
Job Summary:
The Foreman is responsible for organizing and supervising daily construction activities. Oversees crews on job sites, coordinates daily tasks, ensures safety and quality and reports to superintendents or project managers. The Foreman must be able to consult with crews, subcontractors and customers in a professional manner at all times.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and direct trade labor construction and maintenance activities Ability to determine manpower needs as needed Enforce company and customer safety regulations to ensure that onsite personnel comply on a daily basis; reporting all safety accidents to Superintendent and PM immediately Assist in submission of crew timecards for the project Manage equipment, tools, trucks and job site materials Communicate maintenance and repair items Ensure job specifications are followed utilizing the appropriate construction methods Full-time role, usually 40+ hours per week
Requirements:
Skillset:
Extensive knowledge of all facets of general construction Strong math, technical and analytical skill with an eye for detail Ability to interpret contract drawings for the crew High emphasis on safety responsibility — foremen enforce compliance, conduct inspections, and can stop work if hazards exist Ability to read and understand site survey for layout and grading Knowledge of carpentry skills for layout, concrete forming, placing and finishing Experience conducting material takeoffs Ability to utilize iPhone, iPad and apps to conduct jobsite reporting
Travel:
Be available to travel up to 100% as necessary.
Working Conditions:
Primarily outdoor at construction sites (residential, commercial, infrastructure, civil projects). Exposure to all weather conditions — extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, or snow, depending on region and season. Combination of site work, temporary onsite offices/trailers for planning, paperwork, or meetings. Noisy environment (heavy machinery, tools, equipment); hearing protection is commonly required. Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles. Sites often involve heights, confined spaces, uneven/slippery surfaces, and proximity to heavy machinery/vehicles. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory (hard hat, high-visibility clothing, steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.). Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders/scaffolding, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and balancing for extended periods (often 8-10+ hours/day) Regular lifting/carrying materials/tools: typically, 50-80 lbs.
