Michigan , Lansing Job Description We're seeking a skilled Construction Foreman to lead field operations on heavy civil construction projects. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record supervising crews in grading, excavation, underground utilities, and concrete or roadway work.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate field crews to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to project specifications Plan daily activities, allocate labor and equipment, and ensure schedules are met Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors Monitor quality control and enforce safety standards on-site Track materials, equipment, and daily progress reports Troubleshoot field issues and provide practical, cost-effective solutions
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, including at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory role Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, utilities, and/or concrete structures Ability to lead and motivate field crews while maintaining productivity and morale Understanding of construction plans, specifications, and job costing Excellent communication and leadership skills OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
