Job Description

Position Description Perform supervisory responsibilities for managing all aspects of the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment according to customer specifications and blueprints by performing the following duties in a safe and timely manner with the best quality possible. Job Responsibilities Plan, schedule and supervise the work of linemen, electricians and helpers engaged in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical systems. Plan wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures, such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, and fuse boxes according to blueprints, schematic drawings, and sketches. Conduct periodic inspections using test equipment, such as voltmeter and ohmmeter and give on-site supervision of hazardous or unusual work. Estimate time and material cost for the project and track cost and job records. Explain company policy and enforce safety rules, regulations and working conditions. Train and instruct subordinates on detailed procedures. Other duties as assigned Job Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have completed Construction Electrician Course at a technical or trade school with at least 1 year of experience in the field or a minimum of 3 years of experience working as Electrical Helper in the field. In some cases, the Electrician may be required to have state or local certifications. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from supervisor. Utilize basic math and calculator, read tape measure and understand operation and usage of volt meter/multimeter. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
