We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Superintendent to lead field operations for our Data and Special Systems division and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Position Summary The Low Voltage Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to structured cabling, fiber optics, security, access control, CCTV, audiovisual, nurse call, DAS, and other special systems projects. This role provides direct leadership to foremen, technicians, subcontractors, and field personnel while coordinating closely with project managers, clients, and general contractors. The ideal candidate is a proven field leader with extensive low-voltage installation experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Field Operations Leadership Manage daily operations for all Data and Special Systems projects. Supervise foremen, lead technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors. Coordinate manpower planning and workforce allocation. Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor productivity and quality. Ensure projects are executed according to plans, specifications, and industry standards. Project Execution Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope requirements. Coordinate installation activities with project managers and general contractors. Identify and resolve field issues before they impact project schedules. Monitor labor productivity and project milestones. Assist with project scheduling and resource forecasting. Systems Oversight Oversee installation and commissioning of: Structured Cabling Systems Fiber Optic Infrastructure Alarm & Fire Alarm Systems Security Systems Access Control Systems CCTV & Video Surveillance Intrusion Detection Systems Audio Visual Systems Nurse Call Systems Wireless Infrastructure Special Communications Systems Safety & Compliance Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Conduct safety meetings and jobsite inspections. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain proper documentation and reporting. Quality Control Ensure installations meet BICSI, manufacturer, customer, and industry standards. Conduct quality assurance inspections throughout project execution. Verify testing, labeling, and documentation requirements are completed. Support project closeout activities and customer turnover. Customer Relations Serve as the primary field representative for clients and contractors. Attend project meetings and coordination sessions. Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and trade partners. Address customer concerns professionally and promptly. Qualifications Required Minimum 7+ years of low voltage field experience . Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role .
Extensive knowledge of:
Structured Cabling Fiber Optics Security Systems Access Control CCTV Audio Visual Systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong understanding of project scheduling and manpower management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Preferred BICSI Technician, Installer, or RCDD certification. Manufacturer certifications (Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Axis, Milestone, etc.). OSHA 30 Certification. Experience with healthcare, education, government, and commercial projects. Experience managing projects exceeding $100K - 2M.
