Field Superintendent, Plumbing & Fire Protection Service Location:
The Bronx, NY, with travel to active service sites across the NYC area

$140,000 - $160,000 base salary + benefits + bonus A mechanical service company in the Bronx, serving plumbing, fire protection, pump, and motor systems, is hiring a Field Superintendent to run day-to-day service operations across a high volume of active jobs, commonly multiple per day, not a single long-term installation project. You'll lead a team of roughly 20 mechanics and helpers, keep every job moving safely and up to standard, and serve as the main link between the field and the office. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives managing a lot of moving pieces at once. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate a team of approximately 20 mechanics and helpers across multiple active service jobs per day Oversee daily dispatch and job assignments, keeping crews on schedule across plumbing, fire protection, pump, and motor service calls Enforce safety standards and protocols on every job site and hold crews accountable to them Review completed work against company technical and quality standards before a job is signed off Coordinate and support DOB, DEP, and FDNY inspections and approvals as needed Serve as the field's primary point of contact for dispatch and operations, escalating anything outside your authority, such as change orders, pricing, or scheduling commitments, rather than committing to it in the field Identify and resolve field problems before they become bigger issues, and know when to escalate Communicate daily job status and any open issues clearly to the office Support, train, and hold accountable the mechanics and helpers on your team Required Qualifications 5+ years of supervisory or field leadership experience in commercial plumbing, fire protection, heating, or related mechanical service work Experience overseeing crews across multiple simultaneous service jobs or job sites in a single day, not just a single long-term installation project Working knowledge of NYC DOB, DEP, and FDNY inspection and permit processes Strong safety awareness and ability to enforce safety standards in the field Comfortable managing a high volume of day-to-day scheduling and dispatch decisions Strong communication skills, both with field crews and with office/dispatch staff Preferred Master Plumber license or other relevant trade license Experience serving a range of client types: commercial and residential high-rises, office tenants, schools, hospitals, retail, industrial facilities, nursing homes, or financial institutions Bilingual a plus Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary, commensurate with experience Company benefits package Paid time off Long-term stability with an established mechanical service contractor This is a confidential search conducted on behalf of the hiring company.
