The Pipefitter Foreman is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving the execution, safety, and overall success of on-site piping operations. This individual leads a team of Journeymen and Apprentices through all phases of construction, ensuring work is completed efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. A large portion of the role is focused on people leadership—assigning work, training and mentoring team members, and developing Apprentices—while also coordinating daily job site activities, managing schedules, ordering materials, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to keep projects on track. The Pipefitter Foreman conducts regular inspections, enforces strict safety standards, and ensures all work meets or exceeds expectations, all while maintaining clear communication and accountability across the team. The Pipefitter Foreman leads and supervises a team of Journeymen and Apprentices through all phases of piping construction, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role is responsible for coordinating job site activities, mentoring and developing team members, and maintaining high standards of quality, communication, and execution across every project. Key Job Duties Coordinates work location activities. Assigns, trains, and mentors subordinate personnel to perform on-site operations. Completes and inspects installation and/or removals of various piping equipment and work. Supervise team members in all aspects of construction piping operations. Coordinate with key internal and external personnel to establish job schedules and priorities. Communicate work schedules, job priorities, etc., to on-site personnel. Order materials and supplies to facilitate project completion. Conduct periodic/spot inspections of assigned projects. Complete and submit all required documentation. Ensure piping projects are completed in a timely, efficient manner. Coordinate with other departments/organizations to maintain established timelines. Ensure assigned Apprentices are receiving training appropriate to skill level. Complete assigned projects in accordance with all organizational, local, state, and federal regulations, codes, guidelines and procedures. Maintain appropriate licensures/certifications in applicable field. Train and mentor subordinate personnel in proper techniques and procedures. Make every reasonable effort to ensure safe practices and get every employee home safely.
Candidate Requirements:
Ability to comprehend complex written communications, such as blueprints, schematics, drawings, etc. Ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal English Proficient math skills required Able to effectively operate the basic tools required for the trade Advanced knowledge of Pipefitting practices and procedures along with comprehension of welding practices (Mig, Tig, Stick) Unencumbered US Driver's license US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required High School Diploma or GED or 15 semester (22 quarter) hours college level education 7+ years' recent experience in piping field Completion of a state-sponsored Apprenticeship program preferred Piping/Welding certifications preferred Rigging experience required
