We are seeking applicants who love to work outdoors, thrive in a leadership role, and view a challenge as an opportunity. Come join a growing telecommunications inspections and engineering firm. As a Construction Civil Crew Lead , you will serve as the primary on-site supervisor responsible for the successful execution of cell site foundation preparation and construction. You will direct a ground crew in the installation of physical infrastructure that supports telecommunications equipment, ensuring that all concrete work, excavation, and site restoration meet engineering specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Site Management:
Oversee all aspects of ground-level site preparation, including clearing, trenching for underground conduits, and ensuring precise site leveling according to blueprints.
Concrete Oversight:
Direct and participate in the installation of rebar cages, forming, pouring, and finishing concrete pads and piers. You are responsible for the final quality and structural integrity of all pours.
Utilities & Grounding:
Supervise the installation of site grounding systems and the laying of conduit for electrical and fiber optic lines, ensuring all work passes inspection.
Equipment Mastery:
Proficiently operate and oversee the maintenance of heavy machinery (skid steers, mini-excavators, trenchers) and power equipment.
Safety Leadership:
Act as the on-site Safety Officer; conduct daily "tailgate" safety meetings, enforce OSHA compliance, and ensure the crew recognizes ground-level hazards like underground utilities.
Project Execution:
Translate project drawings and instructions from the Project Manager into daily tasks for the crew; ensure the project stays on schedule and within scope.
Mentorship:
Supervise and train Tech I and Tech II members, providing feedback and ensuring the crew operates as a cohesive, efficient unit.
Travel:
Travel extensively throughout the lower 48 states for 3-4 weeks at a time.
Availability:
Work overtime, including Saturdays, Sundays, and evening hours to ensure site deadlines are met.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience Experience:
3-5+ years of experience in civil construction, specifically in concrete and excavation; prior experience in a leadership or foreman role is preferred.
Certifications:
OSHA 30 Construction certification (or the ability to obtain it immediately).
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced ability to read and interpret structural and site blueprints; expert-level operation of heavy earth-moving equipment.
Licensing:
Possession of a valid driver's license; a clean driving record is required to operate company lead vehicles.
Age:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Screening:
Must be able to successfully pass a background check, DMV check, and drug screening.
Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions Standing/Labor:
Ability to perform and supervise manual labor for 90% of the workday.
Lifting:
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds .
Mobility:
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and access all areas of the site (trenches, equipment shelters, etc.).
Weather:
Ability to lead a crew outdoors in all weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow).
Remote Sites:
Ability to manage logistics and operations in remote locations for extended periods.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to report site progress to Project Managers and coordinate with third-party vendors.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
