This is not a position where you will only supervise from the sidelines. We need someone who can review the scope of work, walk the job site, create a material list, purchase or order materials, direct employees, check the quality of their work, and jump in when extra help is needed. You should be able to solve common construction problems without waiting for the owner to be onsite. If an employee runs into an issue, you will be expected to find an effective solution and keep the project moving. We are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, motivated, and takes pride in doing good work. You will drive a company van or truck, so a valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. Experience safely driving with a trailer is preferred.
Pay:
$25 to $40 per hour, depending on experience. Responsibilities Review scopes of work and determine what labor, tools, and materials are needed Create material lists and purchase or order materials Make sure the crew has everything needed to complete the job Lead, teach, and work alongside other employees Assign tasks and keep employees productive Check work for quality and correct problems before they become larger issues Keep projects moving while the owner is estimating or working offsite Communicate job progress, delays, material needs, and unexpected conditions Read and follow project plans, scopes, and manufacturer instructions Complete projects with limited supervision Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site Assist with hands on construction work when needed Common Projects Water damage mitigation and reconstruction Drywall removal, installation, repair, texture, and painting Kitchen and bathroom repairs and remodeling Flooring removal and installation, including LVP, carpet, sheet vinyl, and hardwood Cabinet, countertop, trim, and baseboard installation Window and exterior door replacement Siding installation and repair Deck framing, deck board replacement, and exterior repairs Roofing repairs and roof cleaning Mold remediation Crawl space cleanup Storm and flood damage repairs Interior and exterior remodeling Apartment repairs and unit turns Residential and commercial construction Requirements Several years of hands on construction experience Foreman, crew lead, or job site management experience preferred Experience with finish work, drywall, flooring, roofing, and general construction Ability to plan a job and create an accurate material list Strong problem solving and decision making skills Experience using power tools and miter saws Valid driver's license and a good driving record Must be eligible to drive company vehicles under our insurance policy Ability to safely drive a company van or truck Trailer driving experience is preferred Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Portland metro area Ability to lift and carry construction materials and perform physical work throughout the day Reliable attendance and strong communication Ability to work independently and as part of a crew Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required No college degree required Schedule Full time Monday through Friday No nights Year round work Company website: www.fc-restoration.com
