Job Description

Commercial Roofing Superintendent / Service Team Lead Ja-Mar Roofing & Sheet Metal Full-Time | Central Texas Ja-Mar Roofing & Sheet Metal is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent / Service Team Lead to oversee commercial roofing projects and help lead our commercial service operations. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows commercial roofing, understands how to run crews and jobsites, and can quickly diagnose and solve roofing problems in the field. Position Overview The Commercial Roofing Superintendent / Service Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing commercial roofing installations, repairs, maintenance, and service work from start to finish. You will coordinate crews, monitor quality and safety, communicate with customers and project management, troubleshoot difficult roof issues, and make sure every project meets Ja-Mar's standards for workmanship and professionalism. You will also help organize and lead our commercial service team, including scheduling service work, evaluating roof leaks and deficiencies, determining appropriate repairs, and ensuring service calls are completed efficiently. Responsibilities Supervise commercial roofing projects and service work in the field Lead and coordinate roofing crews, subcontractors, and service technicians Perform commercial roof inspections and diagnose leaks and roofing deficiencies Develop repair recommendations and scopes of work Oversee installation and repair of commercial roofing systems Ensure projects meet manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and Ja-Mar quality standards Monitor jobsite safety and OSHA compliance Coordinate materials, equipment, manpower, and project schedules Conduct quality-control inspections throughout each project Document project conditions, progress, repairs, and completed work with photos and reports Communicate professionally with building owners, property managers, general contractors, and internal team members Identify additional repair and maintenance needs while on site Help manage emergency leak calls and commercial service requests Train and develop service technicians and field personnel Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites Assist project management with planning, scheduling, and resolving field issues Perform final inspections and ensure punch-list items are completed Roofing Experience Strong working knowledge of commercial roofing systems is required. Experience with multiple systems is highly preferred, including:
TPO PVC EPDM
Modified bitumen Built-up roofing Commercial metal roofing Standing seam metal roofing Roof coatings and restoration systems Flashings, penetrations, curbs, drains, gutters, and related sheet metal Commercial leak investigation and repair Qualifications 5+ years of commercial roofing experience preferred Previous superintendent, foreman, service manager, or field leadership experience strongly preferred Strong ability to diagnose commercial roof leaks and determine appropriate repairs Ability to read plans, specifications, details, and manufacturer requirements Strong understanding of commercial roofing installation practices Excellent leadership and communication skills Highly organized and capable of managing multiple active projects and service calls Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, photos, and digital project-management systems Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Able to climb ladders, walk roofs, lift materials, and work outdoors in Texas weather OSHA training and manufacturer certifications are a plus Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership.
