Working Excavation Foreman

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Working Excavation Foreman to lead and supervise excavation projects on construction sites. This role is vital in ensuring that excavation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and a comprehensive understanding of excavation processes, safety protocols, and project management tools. As a Working Excavation Foreman, you will coordinate teams, oversee daily operations, and ensure quality standards are met while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations. Responsibilities Lead and supervise excavation crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans and specifications Coordinate daily excavation activities, including site preparation, trenching, grading, and utility installation Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide excavation work accurately Conduct quality control inspections to verify work meets safety standards and project requirements Oversee the use of construction management tools like Bluebeam for documentation and communication among teams Ensure all team members adhere to OSHA safety standards and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Manage subcontractors and vendors, review contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment Monitor project progress using management software; adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines Supervise the use of technical tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing on pipelines or related infrastructure Maintain detailed records of daily activities, safety incidents, equipment usage, and inspection reports Experience Proven management experience in construction site supervision with a focus on excavation or heavy civil projects Extensive hands-on experience in excavation operations including pipeline installation and trenching projects Strong knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6 or Primavera for scheduling; HeavyBid for estimating; Bluebeam for documentation Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating processes Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards under OSHA regulations Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, quality control procedures, and managing multiple subcontractors Knowledge of construction contracts and ability to enforce compliance with contractual obligations Skilled in using technical testing devices like ohmmeters for electrical inspections within pipelines or infrastructure projects Excellent communication skills combined with supervisory experience in fast-paced construction environments Join us as a Working Excavation Foreman to lead impactful projects that shape communities!
