This position supervises service technicians, schedules and prioritizes calls, provides technical support, coordinates materials and subcontractors, and ensures that work is completed safely, efficiently, and profitably. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical and mechanical experience, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a proven record of leading multidisciplinary service teams. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring frequent interaction with technicians, customers, vendors, and facility personnel. Key Responsibilities Schedule and dispatch technicians according to service priority, location, required skills, and equipment availability. Review incoming service requests and determine the labor, materials, tools, and equipment required. Provide technical support for electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Visit customer facilities to evaluate complex equipment problems, oversee critical repairs, and address customer concerns. Coordinate emergency repairs and planned maintenance activities while minimizing customer downtime. Ensure that all work complies with electrical and mechanical codes, safety regulations, manufacturer requirements, and CEBSA standards. Review service reports, work orders, technician notes, time entries, material usage, photographs, and equipment readings. Prepare or assist with estimates, proposals, repair recommendations, change orders, and preventive-maintenance agreements. Coordinate the purchase and delivery of repair parts, materials, rental equipment, and specialized tools. Manage subcontractors and specialty vendors when additional technical support is required. Monitor labor productivity, job costs, billing readiness, service response time, callbacks, and department profitability. Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment conditions, schedules, repair options, costs, and work progress. Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and evaluating field personnel. Lead safety meetings and enforce lockout/tagout, PPE, electrical safety, refrigerant-handling, pressure-system, and jobsite safety procedures. Help manage after-hours and emergency service coverage. Promote a professional, accountable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented work environment. Systems and Equipment The Service Call Superintendent may oversee work involving:

  • Electromechanical EquipmentRequired Qualifications Minimum 3 years of industrial electrical, mechanical, HVAC, compressed-air, or electromechanical field-service experience.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory, foreman, superintendent, or service-management experience. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical equipment. Strong knowledge of motors, controls, variable-frequency drives, pumps, compressors, and chilled-water equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control diagrams, piping diagrams, specifications, and equipment manuals. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable mechanical and safety requirements. Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technicians and manage multiple service calls simultaneously. Strong customer-service, leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Knowledge of estimating, labor productivity, job costing, material planning, and service billing. Comfortable using dispatch, work-order, estimating, and mobile field-service software. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to meet the physical and jobsite requirements of the position.
