Job Description

Job Description Under general supervision, the Foreman position provides support for all maintenance and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection within multiple MUD's. Qualifications The ideal Foreman candidate will possess: Minimum of six (6) years of experience and/or training involving operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, personal computer operations, and use of mechanical tools and equipment, or two (2) years' experience as a utility foreman. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills; Experience where a high attention to detail and quality in job tasks is expected; Practical knowledge of water and wastewater utility construction installation maintenance, and repair; Experience operating heavy machinery; Strong safety awareness; Customer-Service skills to communicate with residents, contractors, business owners, MUD managers and other interdepartmental personnel; Skill in planning, organizing and effectively managing multiple complex projects concurrently; A proficiency in Microsoft office suite, including Excel; The ability to handle tasks as assigned by a supervisor; The ability to complete all other duties assigned. Duties The Foreman will perform the following duties: Conduct daily safety meetings and prioritize safety compliance; Monitor on site job safety to ensure employee safety; Facilitate supplies and needs of crews; Collaborate with the supervisors and assist with daily utility maintenance, installation or repair; Maintain open communication with the Supervisor and higher management; Record employees' daily work hours and document work progress; Plan, schedule, and direct personnel and equipment in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale; Ensure timely submission of all invoices and paperwork; Read and interpret construction plans and drawings; Attend TCEQ trainings; Communicate regularly with assigned company stakeholders; Attend meetings internally as directed to update essential operations staff; Assists Supervisor in responding to customer questions and complaints; Weekly rotating On-Call by respond to emergency situations after hours or on weekends; Complete other duties as assigned by Crossroads management. Physical Regularly lifting and carrying heavy objects safely, potentially exceeding 50-80 pounds; Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and navigating uneven terrain;
Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized; Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping to access underground utilities or perform repairs; Pushing and pulling heavy equipment or materials during excavation and installation processes; Precise hand movements to operate tools and equipment like shovels, wrenches, and power drills; Working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow; May need to work in tight spaces like trenches or underground utility tunnels; Potential exposure to loud noise from machinery; May come into contact with potentially hazardous materials like chemicals or gas depending on the utility system; Wearing appropriate safety gear including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing is essential; Maintaining a good level of physical fitness is crucial to perform the job effectively. Education High School diploma or GED; and Water Distribution "C" and Wastewater Collection III License; and OSHA 30 Valid driver's license. Other Conditions Criminal Background and Records Check; Pre-employment Physical Examination/Drug Testing/Breath Alcohol Testing and repeated in accordance to policy thereafter; Maintain drug free culture; Six-month probationary period; Work beyond normal work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays; Must have reliable transportation Travel Approximately 50% within the Greater Austin, TX area with assigned company vehicle
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
