Painting Crew Leader / Working Foreman My Painter & Exteriors is a leading residential and commercial painting and exterior contracting company serving Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland. Our services include interior and exterior painting, roofing, siding, windows, residential exterior remodeling, and light residential interior renovations. On the commercial side, we provide finish work including painting, flooring, lighting, wall coverings, and exterior envelope improvements. We are seeking a Painting Crew Leader / Working Foreman to run a crew and own a job from the first conversation with the customer to the final walkthrough. This is a hands-on leadership role — you're on the tools most of the day alongside your crew, while also being the one person the customer, the office, and your Project Manager can count on to keep the job on track. We're looking for leaders who care about keeping a happy, well-run crew, who solve problems instead of just flagging them, and who communicate clearly and proactively with everyone on the job. Key Responsibilities Serve as the single point of contact for the customer on your job — greet them, walk the scope with them on day one, and keep them updated throughout without them having to chase you or the office Work the job alongside your crew, performing painting, prep, and carpentry/handyman repairs such as rot replacement, trim, and minor framing Direct your crew's daily tasks and check work against company quality standards as the job progresses Flag scope changes, delays, or material needs to your Project Manager well before they become a problem Lead the final walkthrough and obtain customer sign-off Document job progress daily using Company Cam and Job Ledger Set the tone for a positive, well-organized crew and job site Team Structure The Painting Crew Leader / Working Foreman works closely with their assigned Project Manager and the office to keep every job on schedule and within scope, while directing their own crew of painters on-site. This role is the primary link between the field and the office — the Project Manager and office rely on the Crew Leader for timely, accurate updates, and the crew relies on the Crew Leader for direction, quality standards, and day-to-day problem-solving. Qualifications 5+ years of professional painting experience 5+ years of carpentry experience Experience leading a crew, running your own jobs, or subcontracting — or readiness to step into that kind of ownership Clear, proactive communicator with customers, crew, and Project Managers Valid driver's license with reliable transportation Comfortable on a ladder and safety-minded on every job site
