Build and Lead Our Commercial Plumbing Service Team Press Mechanical Contractors is hiring an experienced Commercial Plumbing Service Supervisor to help lead and grow our commercial service operation throughout the DMV.This is not a desk-only management position. We are looking for a hands-on plumbing leader who can diagnose difficult service issues, direct technicians and plumbers, scope work, communicate with customers, and step into the field when a project requires senior-level experience.

The right person will have meaningful influence over how the department operates—including technician development, job planning, quality control, material coordination, customer communication, and profitable execution.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial service plumber, service foreman, plumbing supervisor, or licensed plumber who is ready for greater responsibility without giving up fieldwork completely. What You'll Do Lead the daily field execution of commercial plumbing service work. Assign and coordinate work with plumbers, apprentices, dispatch, and project management. Diagnose complex plumbing, drainage, water, gas, and equipment problems. Perform senior-level plumbing work when needed, particularly on difficult or high-value projects. Conduct site visits and develop clear scopes, labor projections, and material lists. Review work orders before dispatch and completed work before billing. Help prepare service estimates, repair options, and customer recommendations. Communicate with property managers, facility directors, general contractors, inspectors, and building owners. Support commercial customers in healthcare, education, government, industrial, retail, multifamily, and other occupied facilities. Oversee planned shutdowns, emergency repairs, tenant coordination, testing, and system restoration. Ensure technicians properly document labor, materials, photos, findings, and recommendations. Train and mentor plumbers and apprentices in troubleshooting, workmanship, professionalism, and productivity. Inspect completed work for code compliance and company quality standards. Coordinate tools, equipment, specialty rentals, and materials. Help establish practical service procedures that allow the department to grow efficiently. Identify additional repair, replacement, and preventive-maintenance opportunities when they genuinely benefit the customer. Assist with underground utility, sewer, water-service, and light commercial construction projects when needed. Typical Work May Include Commercial plumbing troubleshooting and repairs Domestic water and sanitary piping Sewer and drain diagnostics Camera inspections and locating Water and sewer service repairs Backflow preventers, PRVs, pumps, and valves Water heaters and commercial plumbing equipment Gas piping repairs and modifications Fixture and equipment replacements Planned building shutdowns Occupied-building renovations Underground utilities and excavation-related plumbing Emergency and time-sensitive service projects What We're Looking For At least 7 years of plumbing experience Strong commercial plumbing service and troubleshooting experience Previous experience as a service supervisor, service foreman, lead plumber, or senior commercial service technician Ability to independently diagnose problems and determine practical repair options Ability to plan work, develop material lists, and estimate required labor Experience leading and developing plumbers and apprentices Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and applicable codes Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and equipment documentation Professional communication with customers, technicians, inspectors, and management Strong organization and follow-through Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for work orders, photos, email, scheduling, and job documentation Preferred Qualifications Virginia Master Plumber or Journeyman Plumber license WSSC, Washington, D.C., or Maryland plumbing credentials Experience supervising a commercial plumbing service department Backflow testing or repair certification Sewer camera, locating, jetting, and drain-cleaning experience Underground water and sewer utility experience Experience with healthcare, government, education, or occupied commercial facilities OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Bilingual English/Spanish A Master Plumber license is strongly preferred, but we will consider a highly qualified commercial service leader with equivalent experience.
