Construction Laborer

Laborer Reports To:

Tear-Off Supervisor SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for removing existing roofs, cleaning up debris, and loading materials by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides general manual labor at warehouse and/or jobsites. Loads of roofing materials on roof. Clean up Grounds & Sweeps at jobsite. Hosses down driveways. Removes any tarps installed during re-roofing project. Paints and/or primes raw wood materials.

ATTENDANCE

Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) prior roof experience or training a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
