A Construction Helper or Worker works at construction sites and projects. Works as a skilled trades worker such as bricklayer, carpenter, painter, electrician or mason, or operates construction equipment.
Our client, an industrial and offshore services company, is looking for an General Laborer / Welder Helper to join their team based out of Santa Paula, CA . In this role, you will provide hands-on support to welders and the general labor crew on offshore platforms, performing a variety of tasks including fit-up support, grinding, rigging, and surface prep in a physically demanding and safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist welders with fit-up support, material handling, and tending during welding operations Perform general labor and utility tasks including grinding, cutting, surface preparation, and housekeeping Operate hand and power tools including grinders and wrenches safely and effectively Provide rigging and lifting support under supervision Report to dock or shop and transport out to offshore platforms as scheduled Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times Follow all safety procedures and take direction from supervisors without hesitation
Requirements:
Prior experience in offshore, refinery, construction, shop, or heavy industrial environments preferred — strong attitude and work ethic considered in lieu of experience Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment Must be willing and able to work rotational offshore assignments away from home for up to one week at a time Comfortable traveling to platforms by boat or helicopter Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen Subject to random drug testing through consortium program Punctual, reliable, drug-free, and able to take direction and work safely without attitude

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
