Non-Exempt Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The Laborer Fitter II will be responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day. Gas Fitters install, inspect, repair and maintain gas lines and gas equipment such as meters and regulators. The Gas Fitter must perform all Laborer essential duties and responsibilities. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for this position.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assists crew leader in construction, reconstruction and maintenance work. Assists equipment operators by swamping, hand digging and locating underground obstructions. Works with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other industry tools. Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck. Cleans and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Maintains paperwork during the day including DVIR and driver's logbook. Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance. Performs cathodic protection work including installation of anodes, test leads and pipe to soil measurements. Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment onto and from trucks by hand. Installs gas meters, regulators, piping and pipe fitting work with black iron pipe. Keeps legible, hand-written, accurate records including daily work logs and installation records. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:
High School diploma or GED required. 3+ years of experience in a laboring position in the utilities field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for this position. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment. Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
