Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Excavation Laborer with at least 5 years of experience in excavation and site work. The ideal candidate will assist with excavation, grading, site preparation, and other construction-related tasks. Responsibilities will include working with equipment and hand tools, assisting equipment operators, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The laborer will work closely with operators, foremen, and supervisors to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule. This is a full-time, year-round position with immediate availability for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with excavation and site preparation for foundations, trenches, utilities, and other construction projects. Perform digging, grading, leveling, and material handling using hand tools and equipment as directed. Assist with the installation, repair, and relocation of underground utilities, including water, gas, and electrical lines. Help prepare and maintain trenches, including assisting with shoring and other protective systems when required. Work alongside equipment operators and supervisors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. Follow all company and job-site safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in excavation, site work, or a related construction field. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Basic knowledge of excavation practices, trenching, utility work, and job-site safety. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, digging, carrying, and moving materials. Ability to understand measurements, elevations, and basic site layout. Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to follow directions and work safely in a fast-paced construction environment.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to rain, heat, cold, and other weather conditions. Position requires frequent physical labor, including digging, lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods. Required personal protective equipment includes a hard hat, steel-toe boots, gloves, and other safety equipment as required by the job site. Extended hours, early mornings, and occasional weekend work may be required based on project schedules and deadlines.
