U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 950 employees in twenty states.
Summary:
General maintenance to include: use of all types of lawn maintenance equipment, including tractors, zero-turn mowers, skid loaders, walk mowing, trimming, sodding, tree-work, raking, equipment operation, washing equipment, collection/disposal of debris, blowers, chain saws and other various motorized and hand tools. In addition, this position will be tasked with assisting utility maintenance crews, performing tasks as assigned, which includes, among other things, cleaning water and wastewater facilities, working on pumps, motors, electrical equipment, chemical feed equipment, crane trucks and motor controls. Applicant must be able to safely and proficiently: Operate hand and power tools. Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris, assist with site restoration during nuisance abatement projects. Follow OSHA safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Retain and apply what is learned as it applies to the next skill level. Understand and follow company chain of command and reporting methods. Assist utility crews in day to day maintenance tasks. Regularly attend company safety training sessions.
Requirements:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to regularly lift at least 50 pounds of force General understanding of lawn equipment operation and maintenance Willingness to put forth extra effort Communication skills both verbal and written Ability to take direction and carry out job duties as needed and without supervision Maintains a valid driver's license and be insurable under company insurance provider/program Be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Must be able to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
