This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale civil infrastructure projects, supporting the development of waterways, docks, piers, and other marine facilities. Duties Assist with the operation of heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to move materials and prepare sites for construction activities. Perform manual labor including heavy lifting, digging, shoveling, and handling construction materials using hand tools and power tools. Support roadway construction efforts by paving, grading, and installing traffic control measures for work zones to ensure safety for workers and the public. Operate dump trucks and commercial trucks in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations for transporting materials to and from job sites. Conduct routine maintenance and mechanical inspections on equipment like Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Follow all safety protocols diligently, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), adhering to OSHA standards, and maintaining a clean work environment. Collaborate with team members on roadway and highway maintenance projects, ensuring timely progress while maintaining high safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks in construction or civil infrastructure settings. Knowledge of road construction techniques including paving, grading, traffic control for work zones, and highway maintenance. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs or troubleshooting on construction machinery like Caterpillar equipment. Familiarity with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and roadway construction projects. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling outdoors in various weather conditions. Experience working on construction sites involving civil infrastructure projects such as waterways or marine facilities. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations for commercial truck driving when transporting materials or equipment. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction-related tools safely and effectively.
