Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Laborer/Operator, where you'll play a vital role in building and maintaining essential infrastructure. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors on diverse projects, utilizing heavy equipment and manual tools to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality construction operations. Your expertise will contribute directly to the development of water systems, underground utilities, pipelines, and other critical infrastructure components. Duties Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other equipment to perform excavation, lifting, and site preparation tasks Conduct maintenance, repair, and routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Assist with underground utility locating and utility trenching for water systems and pipeline installations Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, installation, welding, and repair work on construction sites Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and climbing to access elevated or confined areas safely Follow safety protocols diligently while working with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems; perform fiber splicing as needed Maintain clear communication with team members during on-call coverage shifts; support emergency response efforts when required Support water system installation projects by operating equipment safely and adhering to all safety standards Experience Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and power tools in a construction environment Prior work experience in the energy & utilities sector or related fields involving underground utilities or pipeline projects is highly desirable Knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and repair techniques for construction machinery Familiarity with safety protocols related to high voltage, low voltage electrical systems, underground utilities, and water systems Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions on construction sites with a focus on utility installation or maintenance projects Valid commercial truck driving license or ability to obtain one; experience with utility locating is a plus Climbing skills for accessing elevated work areas; proficiency with ladder use is necessary Join us in building vital infrastructure while advancing your skills in a fast-paced outdoor environment!
