Competitive hourly pay based on experience About Us Smith & Company Inc. is a growing heavy civil construction contractor specializing in underground utilities, site development, roadway improvements, and asphalt construction throughout the Treasure Coast and surrounding areas. We are seeking dependable, hardworking Construction Laborers to join our field operations team. This position offers opportunities for advancement and on-the-job training for individuals who are motivated to build a career in the construction industry. Responsibilities Assist with site preparation, excavation, grading, and trenching operations. Support underground utility installation, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, picks, compactors, and other construction equipment. Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site. Assist equipment operators, pipe crews, and supervisors as directed. Help install traffic control devices, fencing, and jobsite protection measures. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks. Qualifications Construction experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and work as part of a team. Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Reliable transportation to and from job sites. Strong work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude. Preferred Qualifications Experience in construction, site development, or underground utilities. Experience using hand tools and construction equipment. OSHA 10 certification. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
