These projects include parking lots, industrial and retail complexes, road and highway construction, and airport runways. Summary Our company has an immediate opening for a skilled and dedicated MOT (Management of Traffic) Laborer in Vero Beach, Fl. The MOT (Management of Traffic) Laborer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of traffic flow around construction zones. This position involves setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic control devices, as well as assisting with various construction tasks. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of performing physical labor in various weather conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, signs, and arrow boards according to traffic control plans. Direct traffic safely around construction sites using appropriate signage and hand signals. Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including unloading and positioning traffic control equipment. Operate hand tools and small equipment required for traffic control operations. Ensure proper placement and maintenance of traffic control devices to ensure visibility and safety. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate traffic control operations. Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Monitor traffic conditions and report any issues or hazards to supervisors. Perform routine maintenance on traffic control equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. Assist with other construction-related tasks as needed. Occasional driving if needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in traffic control or construction is preferred but not required. Knowledge of traffic control procedures and safety regulations. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Shift:
6am-6pm or 6pm-6am
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects up to 75 lbs as needed. Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods. Must have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Must be able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
Work Environment:
Outdoor construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions. Noise levels associated with heavy equipment operation. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
