Job Description
Description Performs a variety of manual labor tasks to support Morgan Corp.'s heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, underground utility installation, site development, and demolition. Works collaboratively with construction crews to maintain safe, productive job sites while assisting with daily project activities as directed. Responsibilities Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities Assist construction crews with earthwork, underground utility installation, grading, demolition, and other heavy civil construction activities. Prepare and maintain construction sites by removing debris, organizing materials, and eliminating potential hazards. Dig trenches, excavations, and holes using hand tools and other assigned equipment. Backfill excavations and compact materials using hand tools and powered compaction equipment. Load, unload, move, and stage construction materials, tools, and equipment. Signal and assist equipment operators during excavation, material placement, and other construction activities. Assist with traffic control and work zone safety as directed. Perform routine inspections of work areas and report unsafe conditions. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements. Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Additional Duties Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Participate in required safety meetings and training. Assist with general labor duties as needed. Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and/or night shifts may be required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous construction or heavy civil construction experience preferred. Experience using common construction hand and power tools preferred. Experience working safely around heavy equipment preferred. OSHA construction safety training preferred. Other Requirements Valid driver's license required. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Positions must follow Morgan Corp.'s Fit-for-Duty Physical Program. Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and/or night shifts as project schedules require. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental conditions common to heavy civil construction. Strong commitment to Morgan Corp.'s safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to solve problems and adapt to changing job site conditions and limited supervision.
