Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Marine Construction Crew Leader who brings strong carpentry skills and a passion for waterfront work. In this role, you will lead a small crew on various marine projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Because our work takes place on and around the water, you must be comfortable operating water vessels and towing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, direct, and work alongside crew members on daily marine construction projects (docks, piers, seawalls, etc.). Utilize advanced carpentry skills to build, cut, and install wood and composite materials in marine environments. Safely operate company water vessels to transport crew, materials, and equipment to and from job sites. Safely tow trailers, boats, and heavy equipment to various job locations. Ensure all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company policies are strictly followed on site. Manage project timelines and communicate effectively with management and clients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Carpentry Experience:
Proven professional carpentry experience; marine carpentry or heavy framing background is strongly preferred.
Vessel Operation:
Demonstrated experience and confidence in operating motorized water vessels (skiffs, workboats, etc.).
Reliable Transportation:
Must own a dependable, tow-capable vehicle (truck with a hitch and trailer-towing capacity) to get to various sites as needed (mileage/stipend options available).
Leadership Skills:
A natural leader with the ability to motivate a crew, problem-solve in the field, and take ownership of project outcomes.
Dependability:
Highly reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong work ethic.
Availability:
Able to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability required based on weather, tides, and project schedules. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
