Job Description
General Laborer / Equipment Operator H5 Construction Services is looking for a dependable, hardworking General Laborer / Equipment Operator to join our growing team. We specialize in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sports lighting systems throughout Iowa and surrounding states. - Company-provided safety equipment and fall protection Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of new sports lighting systems.
- Install concrete foundations and assist with electrical connections.
- Help stand assembled lighting poles alongside crane operator and crew members.
- Perform LED lighting retrofits on existing light poles.
- Troubleshoot and repair sports lighting system outages using basic electrical knowledge (training provided).
- Operate equipment, including skid loaders, as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Qualifications
- Construction, electrical or general labor experience preferred.
- Skid loader experience is a plus.
- CDL is required. If not, one will be required to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Basic electrical knowledge is helpful but not required—we will train the right candidate.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Able to work at heights of up to 150' from aerial lifts or crane man baskets while using company-provided fall protection equipment.
- Dependable, motivated, safety-minded, and able to work well as part of a team. Travel & Schedule
- Travel is required throughout Iowa and surrounding states.
- Depending on project location, you may be home every night or travel for up to 3-4 nights per week.
- Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday.
- Occasional Sunday travel may be required due to material deliveries out-of-state.
- Employees report each morning to our shop located between Oskaloosa and New Sharon, Iowa, before traveling to the job site.
