We are not necessarily looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone who shows up, works hard, pays attention, thinks ahead, and wants to learn . This position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop real construction skills and gain hands-on experience in many different areas of residential remodeling instead of doing the same task every day. What You'll Be Doing Work will vary from project to project and may include: Demolition and jobsite preparation Material handling and organization Cabinet installation Tile installation Cabinet Installation Flooring and trim work Doors and windows Decks and exterior projects Drywall and painting preparation Framing and general carpentry Installing fixtures, hardware, and accessories Jobsite cleanup and protection Loading and unloading tools and materials Assisting with custom projects and installations Learning proper construction techniques, tool use, layout, and problem-solving Some days you'll be carrying material or cleaning up a jobsite. Other days you'll be helping install cabinets, laying out a project, building something custom, or learning a new skill. What We're Looking For Reliability is #1.
You should:
Show up on time and ready to work Be dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule Have a strong work ethic Be willing to learn and take direction Pay attention to details Take care of tools, equipment, and customers' homes Be comfortable working with your hands Be able to safely lift and move construction materials Be comfortable working on ladders and active construction sites Understand that quality matters more than simply getting something done quickly Be able to work independently once you've been shown how to complete a task Own reliable transportation Be able to pass a background check Construction experience is helpful, but attitude, reliability, common sense, and willingness to learn are more important . What We Don't Want This probably isn't the right position if you: Regularly show up late or miss work Need to be constantly reminded to stay productive Spend the workday on your phone Are careless with tools or customers' property Aren't interested in learning new skills Think cleanup and organization are someone else's job What You Can Expect You'll work directly with the owner of Apex Home Solutions and have the opportunity to learn from someone with decades of hands-on construction and remodeling experience. We work on a wide variety of projects, and we take pride in figuring out the right way to do things—not simply the fastest or easiest way. If you're dependable, willing to work, and interested in learning a skilled trade, there is room to grow into greater responsibility and more advanced construction work.
