POSITION

Laborer

LOCATION

Minidoka County, Idaho. On site every working day for the duration of the project. No per diem is provided for this project, so candidates should live within commuting distance of the job site.

PAY:

$20 - $28/hr, depending on experience

DURATION

Project based position beginning September 2026 and running through spring 2027. This is a non union position.

JOB SUMMARY WW

Clyde is hiring Laborers for an underground pipeline project in Minidoka County, Idaho. The work is open cut trench installation of large diameter HDPE pipe, along with drainage structures, turnouts, and tie ins. We are hiring at all experience levels, from those new to construction to skilled pipe laborers. Training is provided for those new to construction, and pay is based on experience and skill level. Laborers on this job will work in and around the trench supporting pipe installation, grading, backfill, and compaction alongside operators and pipe crews. This position reports to the Foreman and works under the direction of the Superintendent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work in and around the trench, including hand digging, shoveling, and cleanup. Assist with pipe installation, including guiding and aligning pipe, placing and grading bedding, and backfilling around pipe. Check grade using grade rods, lasers, and grade stakes as directed. Assist with HDPE pipe handling, preparation, and fusion operations. Assist with setting and pulling trench boxes and shoring, including rigging and hooking loads. Spot for equipment operators and use hand signals to guide equipment safely. Operate compaction equipment such as plate compactors and jumping jacks. Assist with construction of drainage structures, sumps, turnouts, and tie ins. Load, unload, and stage pipe, materials, and tools. Keep the work area clean and organized, and maintain tools and small equipment. Follow all WW Clyde safety policies, OSHA excavation requirements, and site specific rules. Participate in daily safety huddles. Work extended hours and weather dependent schedules as the project requires.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Must be at least 18 years of age. Willingness to work in and around trenches and heavy equipment. Ability to perform physical labor for a full shift. Ability to follow directions and work safely as part of a crew. Reliable attendance and willingness to work the hours the job requires. Reliable transportation to and from the job site. Ability to work outdoors in Idaho winter conditions for the duration of the project. Preferred Experience as a pipe laborer or underground utility laborer. Experience with HDPE pipe installation or fusion. Experience checking grade with a laser or grade rod. Experience working around trench boxes and shoring, including rigging and signaling. Experience operating compaction equipment. OSHA 10 Hour certification. Flagger certification. Valid driver's license. Bilingual English/Spanish.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and shovel for extended periods. Work in trenches and excavations on uneven and muddy ground. Work outdoors in extreme cold, heat, wind, snow, dirt, and dust. Exposure to equipment noise, vibration, fuels, and lubricants. To learn more about WW Clyde and our work, visit wwclyde.net.
