The immediate work includes steel post repair and metal remediation. Duties may include cutting metal posts, removing deteriorated steel, prepping areas for new steel base plates, drilling, installing new metal posts onto existing posts, sealing surface-rusted areas, installing metal cladding, applying caulk/sealant, and exterior painting. Welding experience is a plus, but it is not required for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Cut and remove deteriorated steel from existing posts
• Prep areas for new steel base plates
• Drill and install steel components
• Assist with installing new metal posts onto existing posts
• Seal surface-rusted areas
• Install metal cladding
• Apply caulk/sealant and exterior paint as needed
• Use impact drills, bits, and standard construction tools safely
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Follow direction from the project lead or supervisor
• Communicate issues, material needs, and progress clearly

Requirements:

• Construction, metal work, or related field experience preferred
• Must have basic tools, including impact drill, bits, and miscellaneous construction tools
• Must be dependable and able to show up on time
• Must be able to perform physical work and work around metal materials
• Must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Reliable transportation required
• Must be willing to travel between project sites in the Greater Chicagoland / Northeast Illinois area
• Welding experience is a plus

Tools:
