This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, hardworking, willing to learn, and able to assist with a variety of construction tasks in the field. Woodruff Contracting & Sales, LLC performs mostly commercial construction projects, with occasional residential, municipal, and other general construction work. The Construction Laborer will work under the direction of a foreman or project lead to assist with daily jobsite tasks, site preparation, cleanup, material handling, basic construction work, and other duties needed to help keep projects moving safely and efficiently. The right candidate should be reliable, willing to work as part of a team, able to follow directions, and comfortable working in an active construction environment. At least 1 year of commercial construction experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities include:
Assist foremen and field crews with daily construction tasks Load, unload, move, carry, and organize materials, tools, and equipment Lift and carry heavy materials as needed on the jobsite Help prepare and clean up jobsites Perform basic demolition, site work, and general labor tasks as needed Assist with measuring, lifting, carrying, and staging materials Help keep the jobsite clean, safe, and organized Follow directions from foremen, project leads, and supervisors Use basic hand tools and power tools as directed Follow company safety procedures and jobsite rules Work as part of a team to help complete projects efficiently and professionally
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license required Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to pass a drug screen At least 1 year of commercial construction experience preferred, but not required General construction knowledge preferred Must be dependable and punctual Must be able to follow directions and work well with others Must be willing to perform physical labor in a construction environment Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials, up to 50 lbs. or more as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation Must be able to bend, stand, walk, climb, kneel, and work on your feet throughout the day Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions as needed
