Job Description
Job Summary The General Laborer at the Transfer Station is responsible for supporting daily operations by sorting waste and recyclable materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting with equipment and facility upkeep. Responsibilities Sort and segregate recyclable materials from the waste stream Maintain cleanliness of the yard and outside facilities Wash and clean trucks and equipment as needed. Assist operators with loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment activities. Act as a spotter when necessary to ensure safe equipment operation. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous labor, construction, or waste/recycling experience is a plus. Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify recyclable materials. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds. Ability to sit, stand for extended periods. Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment..
