Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Laborer and be a vital part of transforming blueprints into reality! This energetic role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential renovations to commercial builds, utilizing your hands-on skills and passion for construction. As a Construction Laborer, you'll contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality construction sites while gaining valuable experience across various trades and techniques. This paid position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in the construction industry and help build structures that last. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials and tools. Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to perform tasks.
Interpreting Technical Drawings and Specications:
Accurately read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and instructions. Understand welding symbols and take precise measurements for accurate component alignment.
Material Preparation:
Cut, shape, and smooth metal using hand and power tools like saws, shears, plasma cutters, and grinders to specified dimensions. Clean materials and ensure proper t-up for strong welds.
Welding and Joining:
Select appropriate methods based on material type and project needs.
Fabrication and Assembly:
Construct and assemble metal structures and equipment according to plans. Fit and install fabricated components.
Quality Control and Inspection:
Inspect and test welds and structures for flaws. Conduct routine inspections to meet standards. Use instruments to verify dimensions.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Wear appropriate safety gear and maintain equipment safety. Requirements Prior experience working on construction projects or in a related trade is highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with construction protocols are advantageous. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, tape measure, and welders. Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, work at heights (roofing), and stand or walk for extended periods. Valid driver's license for commercial driving or operating company vehicles is a plus.
