Job Description

ONYX CORPORATION, a family owned and operated company for 45 years, is hiring for a full-time Landscape Construction Laborer to join our growing team. Onyx is an established and well-known staple in the surrounding communities that has gained our excellent reputation based solely on word of mouth and referrals from clients, architects, engineers and builders. Our work involves large scale public site work projects, high end residential landscape, and a sand & gravel operation.
Landscape Laborer:
Part of a team that works to develop a site and install hardscape stone material, landscape plant material, landscape lighting, and irrigation systems
Duties/Responsibilities:
Site work preparation to include, excavation, grading, drainage, and utilities installation Hardscape construction to include, walls, walkways, steps, terraces, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, water features, driveways, etc. Landscape installation to include, planting, lawn installation, low-voltage landscape lighting, and irrigation systems
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to identify plant species Thorough understanding of proper hand tool operation Have ability to follow specific verbal and written instructions Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and management Knowledgeable in safety procedures
Education and Experience/Licenses:
High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience Valid driver's license Hoisting License 2A/1C a plus DOT Medical Certificate (acquired within one month after date of hire)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to physically operate landscape machines and equipment. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand. Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
