Construction Truck Driver & Laborer (CLASS A)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Truck Driver & Laborer to join our team. As a Driver/Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standards. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Safe operation of commercial dump trucks (e.g. F550) with equipment trailer and equipment from our construction yard to jobsite. Perform all duties in conformance to company and safety policies/regulations and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. Complete Pre-Trip and Post-Trip vehicle and equipment inspections - Check vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Maintain daily log, and refer defects or repairs to the Shop Supervisor. Notify supervisor immediately of currently needed or anticipated repairs. Perform regular maintenance/cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment. Be knowledgeable of and comply with all DOT traffic laws and weight limits. Plan route to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment. Verify the types of materials being hauled as well as their weight. Haul construction materials to/from jobsites. Load and unload equipment and materials. Maintain situational awareness and communicate any hazard that may arise. Perform other skilled/un-skilled construction duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors which include: lifting, shoveling, climbing and safe operation of assigned equipment. Work outdoors in all types of weather, for example - cold, heat, direct sun, rain, snow, wind. Willing to assist with general laborer tasks if driving is not essential. Maintain all Company property in excellent condition. Excellent work ethic required. Good Attendance record required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education Requirements:

High School Graduate or Equivalent with Technical School Training preferred. Must possess a valid US CDL Class A or Class B, with a clean/insurable 7-year MVA Driving Record.

CDL Class B Driving:

3 years (Preferred, but not required)

CDL Class A Driving:

2 (Preferred, but not required) Must pass Pre-Employment, Random, Post-Accident, and Reasonable Suspicion Drug Screens. Must pass Pre-Employment Medical fit-for-duty test, and hold/obtain DOT Medical Card. Must maintain all certifications required by DOT and OSHA and Company Safety Programs. Knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles. Construction experience is highly preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills, preferred. Ability to represent the company and work professionally at all times and adapt easily to changes in job requirements, hours of work, deadlines for completion of work, etc.

Physical requirements:

ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs., ability to climb 12 foot ladders, and a willingness and ability to work outdoors in all climates for 8 to 10 hours per day. Willingness and ability to work flexible work schedules, including afterhours, weekends, and holidays as required to support business and customer needs. Must possess valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify. Bi-lingual a plus.
