General Laborer, Construction and Installation We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Gate Operator Installer / General Laborer to assist with the installation, maintenance, and service of automatic gate operators and related equipment. This is a hands-on field position requiring mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform general labor duties necessary to complete gate and access control installations. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced installers while developing skills in gate automation, low-voltage systems, and equipment installation.Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
These essential functions include but are not limited to the following: General Labor Responsibilities- Safely load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
- Assist with digging, trenching, excavation, and preparation of installation areas.
- Assist with concrete work, including mixing, pouring, forming, and cleanup.
- Assist with setting posts, bollards, gate components, and equipment foundations.
- Perform demolition, removal, and cleanup as needed.
- Move and position heavy materials and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Assist other installation and service personnel as directed.
- Perform general maintenance and labor tasks necessary to complete projects.
- Perform other installation and general labor duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company safety and OSHA policy and procedures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment. Gate Operator Installation
- Assist with the installation of automatic gate operators and related equipment.
- Assist with installation of access control equipment, safety devices, photo eyes, vehicle detection loops, keypads, card readers, and other gate components.
- Assist with mounting equipment, brackets, conduit, sensors, and related components.
- Use hand and power tools safely and properly.
- Follow installation instructions, drawings, and direction from lead installers.
- Test equipment and assist with adjustments to ensure proper and safe operation.
- Learn to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage equipment.
- Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
Education/Experience:
- Preferred previous experience in construction, mechanical, gate, fencing, or general labor.
- Experience with access control, CCTV, intercoms, vehicle detection loops, safety edges, photo eyes and related systems a plus.
- Preferred experience with manufacturers such as LiftMaster, HySecurity, DoorKing, Byan or other commercial gate automation systems.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and materials 50 to 80 lbs.
- Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers, customers, and supervisors.
- Physical ability with standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, lifting, and climbing ladders.
