Job Description
City of Escanaba Job Opening Public Works Skilled Laborer The City of Escanaba is accepting applications for one full-time Skilled Laborer position within the Public Works Department. This role primarily involves providing labor support for the department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collecting refuse and recyclables. Plowing snow from streets, parking lots, and bike paths. Performing tree and ground maintenance, including planting, mowing, landscaping, trimming, leaf and debris removal, watering, fertilizing, digging, snow shoveling. Painting, cleaning, and maintaining City property. Constructing streets and curbs. Performing manual labor for City construction projects. Completing other assigned projects. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a valid State of Michigan driver's license with CDL endorsement, strong mechanical aptitude, experience operating equipment and tools. Employees in this position must undergo pre-employment physical and drug screening as well as ongoing random drug testing.
