Non-Exempt Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The Hydrovac Laborer will work as part of a crew responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Direct movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand and flag signals. Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices. Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites. Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned. Complete assigned traffic control tasks, which include but are not limited to operating a support vehicle to designated locations. Pretrip equipment to ensure proper functionality.

Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instruction Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-worker Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports Knowledge of basic underground utilities Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment Mechanical aptitude Mapping and Print Reading Ability to work in confined spaces Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training Mechanical ability; and knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

1-2 years of Manual Laboring Experience preferred Standard Driver License Required An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certification:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment. Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
