Laborer Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Underground Utilities Laborer to join our team. This position involves performing a variety of tasks related to the installation and maintenance of Fiber Optic Cable. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work in a team environment, and capable of performing strenuous physical activities under varying field conditions.

Laborer Job Responsibilities:

Travel:

Ability to travel Monday - Friday. Weekends may be required occasionally.

Site Preparation:

Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

Equipment Operation:

Operate hand and power tools, and basic survey equipment.

Safety Inspections:

Perform safety inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Trench Work:

Hand dig and backfill trenches, compact trenches.

Material Handling:

Carry and load materials to be used on the job.

Support Tasks:

Assist equipment operators, perform flagging duties, and spot operators.

Maintenance:

Maintain and clean tools and equipment.

Other Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Qualifications:

Strength:

Ability to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs. multiple times during a work shift.

Endurance:

Capable of working at a sustained pace and producing quality work for long periods.

Flexibility:

Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, walk on uneven surfaces, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.

Environmental Tolerance:

Ability to work outside in all types of environmental conditions, including adverse weather.

Safety Compliance:

Ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions and comply with drug/alcohol-free policies.

Laborer Qualifications:

Licenses:

Valid Driver's License;.

Work Ethic:

Strong work ethic, excellent attendance, and accountability for conduct.

Teamwork:

Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Schedule:

Seasonal position - Overtime as needed Most work is within 2-4 hours of the Bemidji area. Must be able to work overtime, if needed. Must be okay with Monday through Friday overnight stays on the job. 646 1st St E Shevlin, MN 56676-4228
