Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Laborer, where your energy and dedication will help bring building projects to life! In this vital role, you will support skilled tradespeople by performing essential tasks that ensure the smooth progress of construction sites. Your hands-on work will contribute to creating durable structures, beautiful landscapes, and complete renovations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment while making a tangible impact on community development. Duties Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools, cleaning and site maintenance Operate hand tools and power tools safely to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, and assembling components Install siding, construct formwork, and interpret blueprints or schematics to ensure accurate placement of materials Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment while adhering to safety protocols at all times Support framing, siding, roofing, framing, finishing, flooring, window and door installation and carpentry tasks as directed by supervisors Follow construction plans and technical drawings to execute projects accurately and efficiently Requirements Prior experience working on construction sites or in related fields is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential, common sense and humility required Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with physical reality and how that applies to the real, working world, and a desire to further that understanding Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols is required Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and construction equipment is highly desirable Physical capability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions Valid driver's license and ability to get to work, on-time, no matter what, is expected Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities to interpret construction plans and specifications effectively Founder's Note Carpentry is an age-old craft, a study and focus that has scaffolded and stood as the backbone of the most magnificent structures in all of human creation. Even in concrete Cathedrals, carpenters build the forms deciding how the concrete will take it's final form, the carpentry is undone and the concrete stands frozen in time for centruies. We build light-framed houses, garages, cabinets and dressers, almost anything you can imagine a carpenter can cast from the trunk of a tree. We are interested in science-backed methods of moisture management behind our claddings and inside our walls. We learn as we go, never being so proud as to assume we are at the top. We do this through repair, remodeling, additions and just about anythign in the carpentry space we are called to do.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
