Laborer - Seasonal

We are looking to add to our team. If you are looking for a job in the maintenance field, this may be the job for you. Applicants will work a Monday-Friday 6-2:30 (summer hours) and 7-3:30 (winter hours) with some overtime when needed, with a flexible shift in inclement weather. You will be required to work in all weather conditions and on slopes and uneven surfaces.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Answers directly to Director of Public Works. Performs work in various/all types of construction and grounds maintenance. Operate mowers, weed eater, chainsaw, and heavy equipment Responsible for proper use of hand tools and mechanics tools Maintain and repair equipment/vehicles when needed Snow removal during day and overnight hours Road repair including asphalt, grading, and water runoff

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Employee must have knowledge and know proper/safety operation of heavy equipment and trucks. Must be able to assist in reading grade while excavating, will assist in loading and unloading materials ands equipment at job sites Must know and use proper PPE (personal protective equipment) May be required to stand and/or walk for long intervals; lift objects up to 50 Lbs. Will be required to use asphalt tools, concrete tools, hand tools, and shop tools and equipment Will be required to drive or work for long intervals in inclement weather Employee will work in all weather conditions and could be required to occasionally work overtime after proper approval Employee will frequently work around heavy equipment, vehicles, and machinery. Employee will frequently work in elevated noise levels Employee has or will obtain a Class E. Class A or B licenses would be obtained within 1 year of employment. Employee will be on a 90 probationary period where they will be evaluated by job performance. Mowing with a zero turn mower, tractor side arm mower, and weed eating around lakes and dams including picnic areas and other TDL property. Applicants will be trained on all equipment to insure all work is done properly and promptly.
