Job Description
Overview This is for a month long outage at Nutrien - Aurora. You will be working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Laborer and be a vital part of transforming blueprints into reality! This energetic role offers hands-on experience in a variety of construction activities, from foundational work to finishing touches. You will work alongside skilled tradespeople to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Whether you're just starting out or bringing previous site experience, this position provides a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to exciting building projects. Duties Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as framing, drywall installation, and finishing Support heavy equipment operation and concrete pumping activities under supervision Install rebar, form concrete structures, and perform concrete finishing to ensure durability and quality Participate in masonry work, tile laying, stucco application, and roofing tasks as needed Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and assist with layout work Perform heavy lifting and manual labor during renovation, restoration, and new construction projects Apply caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and plastering techniques to enhance building aesthetics Utilize construction estimating skills for material needs and project planning support Maintain a clean, safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and inspecting tools and equipment regularly Experience Previous construction site experience is highly preferred; familiarity with various trades such as masonry, carpentry, roofing, and concrete work is a plus Knowledge of mechanical systems and schematics enhances your ability to support complex projects effectively Hands-on experience with heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, and commercial driving demonstrates versatility on the job site Proficiency in blueprint reading allows for accurate interpretation of project plans and schematics Experience with restoration or renovation projects showcases adaptability in different construction environments Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites ensures compliance and accident prevention Ability to perform physically demanding tasks consistently while maintaining attention to detail is essential for success in this role
